Matthew Bode has come out of the second round of NSW Formula Ford series with a lot of positives and a solid performance over the weekend. With changing and unpredictable weather conditions he showed panache among a large field of competitors , showcasing his ability to nonchalantly take on the challenge. He has was able to hold off challenges from other rookies and keep his spot as No.2 in the Rookies Championship and also he now is 9th in the overall standings in his class.

The race at the Sydney Motorsport Park, was Bode’s second at the grand venue. But not being overawed with the occasion he managed to keep his cool and finished all of his three races he participated in. His best result came in the third race where he finished in 9th spot , as the race went on you could see signs of a progressing driver who is showing potential to be competitive with the tops of the competition in coming races. He posted some of the best lap times in that race and also showed off silky skills with some of his passing moves.

When I asked him about his view on how the weekend went ,he replied “ I had a bit of a rough start to the weekend when I damaged a wheel on Friday practice , I was upset about that but once I overcame that initial drama I set into a rhythm and that helped me throughout the weekend. I also feel I need to keep pushing myself because that’s what got me this far so I can’t see why I can’t take this to the next level .”

He is showing great promise with now having finished all of his races so far and showing great fighting capabilities .I think we should buckle up for some Bode race action because I think we might have a surprise or two in store for next round of the Formula Ford 2013 season.
